I knew I needed something to paint while my pain was at its peak. I wanted to embrace the vulnerability needed to sleep by painting the sheet I sleep in. The colors of the sheet are the colors I wished to dream in. Through these paintings, I was able to admire the folds, the shadows, and the highlights of the sheets. Being able to focus on one brush stroke at a time partially eases my brain

Red Stains on Our Democracy

Red Stains on Democracy - Explores the intricate, unsettling relationship between politics and power, using the metaphor of a bedsheet turning red to represent the erosion of democratic values. The image of fabric—something traditionally soft, comforting, and enduring—transformed by a deep red serves as a visual commentary on how the political landscape has been altered by forces that threaten to unravel the very fabric of democracy.

The sheets, once a symbol of security, become stained. Mirroring the way democratic institutions and norms are increasingly challenged and manipulated. The color red, often associated with both urgency, danger, and the Republican part reflects the rising tension and the divisiveness in political discourse.
